I saw this pop up in a Facebook group. I had to share
You’re all welcome.

Yes.

This makes my pants tight. Though I think the green part should be gold for true accuracy.

Whoa! Yes, more of this, please!

Make mine a crew cab, and I’ll take it! I’ll pay more if it has two plaid bench seats.

I shouldn’t like this but hell yea I’d drive it.

That aint bad. at all. Even though the Cheyene 10 badge is a little tacky. Find a place that makes raised stick ons and have it read “silverado 1500" in the old font or something.

This is seriously cool

I have the weirdest boner right now.
![]() 12/05/2017 at 23:56 |

Nope, it was an appearance package I think.

I was so distracted by the amazing two tone I didn’t event notice those old school wheels.
I feel like the stripe should be thicker tho. Like it should start above the door handles, in line with the fender flares.
![]() 12/06/2017 at 01:53 |

Agreed. Go above the door handles and paint them white too to get rid of that awful chrome.

It was more than just an appearance package - it was just enough beefing up to get the GVWR up above 6000 lbs, what was called a “heavy half-ton” at the time. Basically, the Big 10 was an emissions cheat - do just enough to barely get the GVWR above 6000 (in fact, based on this forum post , they didn’t even do anything, they just ripped the emissions equipment off of a 6000 lb GVWR truck, and claimed it was now 6050 lbs), and then you were no longer emissions regulated.
The response by regulators was to raise the heavy duty limit to 8500 lbs GVWR, which killed the heavy half overnight.
Of course, as trucks have bloated nowadays, there’s been some revival of the heavy half concept (the Hummer H2, I’d argue, is basically a heavy half, as well as the Nissan Titan XD), as well as people just buying 3/4 tons...

AWESOME

I’d like it more if it lined up with the headlights.

Why hellllloooooooo there. Please.

This looks awesome. I would have put the stripe higher up, centered around the taillight, but this is still sweet.

Those wheels look like they’re just painted/powder coated factory base model wheels, but they look close enough to the old white wagon wheels to still be awesome.

Urge to buy Silverado... Rising...
But seriously two tone cars (and interesting colors in general) really need to make a comeback. I’m tired of commuting through a sea of various shades of silver and gray.

Oh yeah they are
![]() 12/06/2017 at 14:08 |

They are, and I love them. I want a set for my ‘06.

Don’t forget the GMT-800 1500 HD trucks.
![]() 12/06/2017 at 14:13 |

I’ve never really thought twice about them, they’re just another base wheel to me, but seeing them painted white just looks so right.

As soon as I saw them, this is how I imagined them. My dad’s first truck, that he had until I was 6, was a ‘79 Chevy K-10 with white wagon wheels.
